My love for dance transcends any one particular style or form, and over the course of my life I have learnt various dance styles including Bollywood, Salsa, Indian Folk and Classical, that is Bharatnatyam and Kathak, West African and Contemporary.
My journey as a dancer began in school when I was selected to perform at the National Dance Festivals held in France and Turkey. At Denison University I won the Vail scholarship for excellence in the performing arts. I have performed with ‘Suraati’ an Indian dance company at the prestigious Atwood concert hall in Anchorage, Alaska and at the Library of Congress and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
Dance for me is a form of sharing the joy of movement with others, and I have taught workshops in Mumbai, India for the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival and in Ohio and New York.
I can teach workshops, group or private classes in the following styles:
Salsa – I can teach workshops and private classes
Kathak – I can teach kathak privately and group classes
In addition, I am also excited to help you choreograph Bollywood style dance sequences for weddings, bachelorette party, adults and kids
